Nice website wasco has.

Does anyone have detail of gallons of water per cycle on these gen 6 machines?

Any source for literature online?

This is from gen 6 literature I have, I don't think wasco has put this on the site yet, they haven't updated it in a long time

30 lber 16 hot 44 cold
40lber 24 hot 91 cold
55lber 33 hot 125 cold

I forgot to mention those figures are based on a hot water wash

Todd, those figures cannot possibly be correct. Wasco stated that their Gen5 equipment nominally used 2 gallons per pound of capacity and they did several things in the redesign to reduce water usage. My gen5 equipment does not even use as much as they state. I had heard from my distrib some time ago that the rated consumption was something like 1.7 or 1.8 gallons per pound, but I don't recall the exact number

Kirby, unless you cut off the prewash or one of the rinse, there is no way you can get 1.8 gallons /lb. I check mines many times, it comes to about 2.1 gallons per pound.

Then you have leaking drain valves that are letting water pass by. Wascomat claims that the Gen6 use "significantly" less water than the Gen5's and they state that the Gen5 uses 2.0 gallons with all 5 fills.

Gen 6s are 1.7 gals X dry weight according to Wasco techs. They moved the drain valve up closer to the tub and the outer tub is much tighter to the inter tub. Running the machine without clothes water usage may be more.

Thanks Rondo, I thought the number was 1.7.

Interesting point you raise about the inner and outer tub being closer together - I wonder if this will cause problems down the road with pluggages and other problems as things get caught in the tighter space.

My 4 (Gen6s)have been in opperation since June 1 this year, haven't had any problems at all. They seem to be up to Wasco's standards(knock on wood) If anyone is concidering one of these remember they are a taller machine, the 40s and above doesn't need to be raised. I bolted my directly to the floor(6"concrete) and they are doing great. The only issues are drain height which I didn't have any trouble with.

Is the dry weight the machine rating. 40 pounder = 68 gallon?

No bases.. Is this just ok or the way the machine is intended to be installed? 40 pounder that is.

Not sure if it was intended to not have a base. We determined that we could mount them without bases because you could unload clothes easily with the machine directly mounted on the floor. When talking to my distributor they said that they were designing a 2" base(steel) because of the height of the 40, 55, and 75 machines. The only reason I believe that they started raising frontloaders were ease of loading clothes and draining the machines. the Gen6s are taller so people(short) would have a hard time adding soap If you raise them. With my 55#er mounted on the floor they(short people) still have a time hitting the holes. I guess you could build in a step in front of the machines but I don't like that Idea.

When I had mt W184 base built locally, I had him build the base with a step for just that purpose.

The step gets used frequently.

I am really confused now.

How tall is the 40 pound machine to the top and how tall is the machine from floor to underside of door opening without a base?

I figured the 40 pound machine is just a beefed up 35.

Gen6 40#er height is 52 3/16" and if you put it on a 6" base 58" Height to the bottom of the door is17 1/8 but it has a much bigger door than Gen 4 and 5s. You can load and unload with out raising the machine easily. If you have a bank of 40s you could raise them but the 55s are 55 1/2"s tall and with my set up I didn't want to raise 3 machines and not raise the larger one. They are a taller machine than most comparable same sized machine.
