Does anybody wrap insolated foam around the water tank to save gas? If yes, how much do you see your gas cost can be save.
Thanks for your helps.

I spent less than $40.00 at Home Depot on a bubble wrap foil coated insulation. My water tank (350 gal) is located in a unheated portion of my store. Here in Michigan the the daytime temps have been in the 20's. Heat loss is money lost. It seems to me that in a short time I should recoup my $40 plus.

My Natco Super-E units have built-in insulation on the stainless steel tanks. When you put your hand on the tank it feels the same temperature as the rest of the room they are in, thus no reason to add extra insulation.

There is value to adding insulation only if your tank is located in an unheated area. If it is in the heated part of the store then why bother - you are spending money to heat it anyway. You would be better off spending your money on sealing air infiltration leaks with caulking.

I used caulking and foam to thoroughly seal the gaps between dryers and above the top of the dryers. Remember you have lots of cold air back there that wants to make its way into your nice warm store - and vis-a-versa.

You also can buy a roll of duct insulation from a heating and cooling supply house and a good roll of metal duct tape, it does a great job. It will be money well spent.
