Okay I need some advice and guidance. When I bought the store it was fully attended and we have kept it that way but that means less hours due to we work it ourselves and I do need to sleep contrary to my customers belief. I am thinking we need to go to partially attended to lengthen our hours so I have lots of questions on how do I do this and what hours would be best to leave it attended for the WDF service.

I have thought about the obvious...let me know what I have forgotten please.

Some type of gate around counter area (Suggestions?)
Security cameras
Larger changer machine with padlock and security to it
Lock on door to open and close at said time (Any suggestions or recommendations?)
Timer for AC
Better coin boxes for machines.

Question-What needs to be secured on the machines?

Any help, suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

We were in similar situation. We built a new mat 2 1/2 years ago. We started as attended from 8am to 5pm Monday- Saturday and 1pm to 6pm on Sundays. As we saw that was not needed in such a rural community, we now have an attentant just on weekends and even then she just goes in to clean (not there the entire time. ) We had so little WDF that customers now just call us if they want to leave WDF and we meet them there. We have wireless security camera system, padlocks on all games. Best security is other regular customers. If something is wrong they will usually call us or tell us about it next time we see them. Only thing I would add is putting some time of pay lock on the bathroom. You can be gone 15 minutes and someone always "drops the bomb" in there. We don't have timers on doors, but we have friend who delivers newspaper who unlocks doors for us in the mornings. We lock up at night when we or other part timer goes to clean. In 2 1/2 years, only had damage to one Neptune machine and that was when it "hung up" and people were too stupid to call us and tell us about it. (We live about 3 minutes away and our phone number is posted in three different places)

As for the a/c, we just stopped running it in the summer. Too many times we came by with a/c running wide open and all the doors are propped open. I have a lock over the control and once that was ripped off and a/c was turned on. I have had to flip the breakers off to keep it from being turned on. I have three fans that circulate air, but I am considering putting a bigger one in the wall or ceiling so that more fresh cool air is circulated.

Our changer is mounted in the wall and has 3 inch long lagbolts holding it in place and deadbolt on door that is access to changer. If they try to saw it out, surely I will get their picture on the camera that is pointed straight to it!

I think paritally attended will work in a small town like ours but am not so sure if you are in a bigger city. We are 10 miles from "Mayberry" (Andy Griffith's hometown) but there are still vandals and idiots here too!

This is how I do:
1,1200 pm -400 pm no attendant,it is slowest time in my area.
2,lock washroom,office......
3,junked large counter, add small counter in the office.
4,security system,security cam....
5,let me say again,lock everything.
