We have been running the Wasco TD3030 dryers for three months now and 4 different people have had items burned. Today a very vocal retired teacher burned some sheets in two seperate dryers. It seems the items balloon up and cover the air holes thus robbing the temp sensor of the air it needs to regulate the heat. Even if the setting is on low the air does not reach the sensor and the items burn so lowering the temp setting program will still not remove this danger and a fire is certainly likely if this problem continues.
Has anyone else experienced this with wasco or other dryers and if so whats your idea to remedy the problem?

Unfortunately, Yes, I have experienced exactly that with a large comforter ! (100$ to replace, because it was a drop-off. I would have blamed the customer if they did it themselves on high, without watching it)
That is a downside to these dryers, still, it's a change from customers complaining the dryers are not hot enough.
Large items must be dried on low, and WATCHED.
I think if I had it to do over, I would have gone for larger dryers for the large items. (I don't know if the 50lb. or 75 lb. Wascos have the same hole pattern ?)
At one store I have 34 wheels (17 stacked units) but at my other store only half are new dryers. I guess I'll have to hold my nose and keep a few of the Huebsch stacks :-(
I have had the same thing happen in my Huebsch stack dryers (JTO300DFG). 3 times in about 2 years. One customer told me she saw her blanket ballooned in the dryer and not turning, but the drum was? I have Huebsch stack dryers, and 17 old SQ 30 EG's. The old SQ's are very hot, but never had this happen in them. This has happened in my Huebsch dryers set on low.

The factory setting is too high. Use the programming manual to lower the temperature. I reset mine down to 130 for high. I have had no complaints and customers still feel my dryers are the hottest in town. Keep them clean of lint (drawer, secondary if you still have one on, I took mine off, but then make sure you keep the blower fan clean). I discovered that customers were putting in enough quarters to dry their clothes twice (even when I suggested less time), so the lower temperature saves me on gas and their stuff gets dry anyway.
As for the ballooning, I tell customers to check the item after 14 minutes and rearrange it because the center will be warm and moist. I tell them to only use 4 quarters (28 minutes). Unfortunately, often they are there when my place is unattended.
