I am considering purchasing a Mat in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

15 Maytag top loaders 7 very old (Yellow in color)
2 Maytag front loader double
3 Maytag front load triple
7 Hubesc ?? Dryers (old but working)
6 Speed Qeen Dryers..

My question is.... Is there an easy way to estimate revenues based on the only reliable constants I can believe (water, gas, electricity)... (Reporting revenue was not the previous owners strong points... Neither is book keeping...)

Please be gentle with me, its my first time to post!!!

water - 10% of gross
gas and electric - 15% of gross

rough, quick estimate. some of the guys on this post have a little more complicated formulas, I find this one works for me in my head when I'm looking to evaluate a store in-front of potential seller.

No books? Stay away from that one, it is a loser.

who needs books? I made an offer on a mat yesterday and it never occurred to me to look at thier "books"

The water usage and gas usage should be most helpful, also just watching the store can give you many clues.

We've beat this one to death.

The last thing I want to see is books. It will only confuse you!!!!

What is it worth to YOU?? All sellers are liars and every sale has a major malfunction!!!

O.K. my first attempt at deciphering a waterbill/gross estimate (competitor's)

82,000 gal/mo. div. by 30 = 2,733 gal/day

11 top-L @ 1.75 34 gal/day = 374 gal.
5 F/L(20lb) @ 2.50 36 " = 180 "
1 F/L(40lb) @ 4.00 48 " = 48 "
______
602 "

2,733 div. by 602 = 4.5 turns/day

4.5 X 11 x 1.75 = 87.00
4.5 x 5 x 2.50 = 56.00
4.5 x 1 x 4.00 = 18.00
______
$ 161.00

161 x 30 days = $ 4,830 washer revenue

+ 2,070 dryer rev (30% of TTL gross)
-------------
$ 6,900. COIN gross

How badly did i mess this up ?

You seem to be as close as possible it is to get.
Don't forget a bathroom open to the public ?
And free washes/malfunctions (probably a minor %)
and floor washing.

I plugged in a quick number based on the vend prices and mulitply by gallons, I came up with $6970
Nice math.

Even though there is water used for bathrooms and mopping, and thier is revenue from other sources like soap and soda, I
use a straight amount per gallon for total revenue, it averages out.
