In the carwash business the monthly business correlates very high with the number of daylight hours in the month. In fact it is typically within +-10% of the yearly average.
Here are my ratios (monthly receipts divided by monthly average of annual sales) for the carwash... (In escrow for a MAT.)
Jan. 0.78
Feb. 0.80
Mar. 0.76
Apr. 0.99
May. 1.13
Jun. 1.18
Jul. 1.30
Aug. 1.15
Sep. 1.21
Oct. 1.23
Nov. 0.75
Dec. 0.71
Many of you are just as much into numbers as I am. What are your monthly ratios to the yearly average for your MAT(s)? I wonder how they vary geographically?

Wow Kyle !
Thats some disconnect between some of your months:
Aug to Sept. 50% increase
and Dec/Nov is over 50%.
ChuckB: I haven't seen that much variation in the month-to-month of the 1/2 dozen records i've reviewed. A few bumps April/May.
Of course, i'm in Calif, where weather may not be as big a factor as say, vacation-summertime, etc.

Many of our customers are on well water here. Aug/Sept until it starts snowing gets pretty bad here on the ol water supply. They either have to bathe or do laundry. Not all make the right choice :)

Just for clarification. The numbers I posted were for a S/S CARWASH not a MAT, I was looking to get an idea of what types of swing MAT owners experienced in different locations. Urban, vacation, high density, etc.
I was very surprised by the swing in Kyle's numbers.

I think you will find when it is colder mats do more business than when it is warmer. Less clothes, bedding, etc durring the summer and more durring the winter. I have some mats which have seasonal residenrts and can double revenue in March vs. Sept.
