I'm having a problem where cold water will not come into the washer during the pre wash, but it will come in during the wash cycle. I replaced the solonoid and switched out the timer, but the problem persists, any suggestions?

Did you replace the whole cold water valve or just the coil? Are you getting power to the appropriate coil? If you just replaced the coil, try replacing the diaphram..they can sometimes stick and cause a no-water problem.

Also, does the timer advance through the pre wash, or does it just sit there?

We used to replace the diaphram and thats all it ever was

I replaced the whole cold water valve. The timer will advance to the end of the pre wash, but will not go past because the tub won't fill with water.

Does it work on hot/warm? Are you getting power to the valve? Is the drain staying open?

Using a V.O.M. would have saved all this guess work and your machine would be making money today. I've got a feeling you may have crossed the wires to the coils of the cw valve. Double check this.
