In WV we got up to 12" but I got(Charleston Area) snow then sleet then snow to about 2"s. One of my best attendants called in and said she couldn't make it in to open, So I did. Funny thing is that she couldn't make it out but she'd be in later to pick up her check. As I stated I have very good attendants but they usally have some baggage, like in her case a worthless husband that doesn't work and she does'nt drive and has to rely on him.
Wreaks are abundant, the first snow of the year. Don't you just love the 4 wheel drive vehicles in the ditches that flew past you thinking the snow is no problem. :D

In NJ we're at 6+ inches and rising steadily. I made it half way to my store this AM and I had to turn back. A 4X4 doesn't help much if there are accidents blocking the road all over. I got tired of calling 9-1-1 after a while, especially since I couldn't get through.
The good news is that I don't have attendants yet as we're under construction.

Here in Oregon, the sky is clear and deep blue, the air is crisp but chilly, the fish are biting well (and an occasional salmon can still be caught), the trees are green, and the quarters continue to flow.
The expected rains haven't materialized for several months. When they do, business usually increases.

Here is NJ the weather sucks. I've snowblown my driveway twice, and picked the wife up at the train station. What really stinks is you get the double wammy - business is way off, and you have to pay to have the snow removed.
Even worse, I have two W124 with bad bearings. I pulled the drums last night as they were supposed to deliver rebuilt ones to swap out today and they cancelled on me. :(
Why is it that "crotchety Howard" isn't, when we are all up to our elbows in Canadian weather ?

Many of the old people who hate winters up north habve arrived for the winter and are re-washing thier comforters, rugs, etc getting their places cleaned up for the season. I have to go and collect more frequent now. It only gets better as the weather up north gets worse.
75 today, but sea fog around the beach areas. I put up my lights today wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Yesterday was mid 70's and sunny, I pressure washed a building to make things look nice and clean for my seasonal customers.

It took me two hours to get to my regular Job which normally takes me 45 min. Left Work couple hours later because of worsening weather and spent next two and half hour in the car to get home.
Lesson Learned: Stay home next time. It's not worth spending four hours in the car only to spend couple hours at work.

I got a call from my attendant at around 5:00pm today saying It's been dead for last 2-3 hours because of weather. I just asked her to close it down and put a sign on the door
"Closed early due to weather condition".

I got the same call. I told him the place was looking kinda dirty and that I expected him to work on cleaning and that if it was still dead he could go home in two hours rather than staying till 10:00pm.
