I have several W-73 double loaders where they machine would stop on a particular part of the wash cycle and just continue to run there without advancing any bit. Does anyone know what might be wrong with the machine?? any tips on what to look for? Thanks in advance.

Most likely the timers are bad, but it could also be a leaking drain valve that is preventing the level control from getting to the point to allow the timer to advance. Check to make sure water is not draining while the machine is filling with water.

You might have a bad water valve (no water), bad level switch, bad air hose tube, leaking drain valve or bad timer.

hi there, I just have a few more questions and thought that maybe you could assist me. One is concerning a W-73 and another for the W-183. The W-73 seems to have power, but it sits at the pre wash and stops there. For the W-183, no water is entering the washer. I just changed the drain valve thinking that this was the culprit, but I still dont see any water coming in from the soap box. Thanks!

Qmtran, if they just stop when the suds level is higher than 1/3 up the glass it means that the suds foam over the overflow port not satisfying the water level switch properly which will stop the timer from advancing. I am presuming that the W73 has the same type of interlocking wiring for its timer as the my W74s. I have definitely had this intermittent problem with my W74s & the water continues to try to fill. Cleaning the water level hose &/or changing the water level switch can sometimes make this event from happening as often. I quick solution for us is to turn the water temp to cold to kill the suds.
