Primus sticking in wash cycle

Similar to a problem I'm having with one of my triple loaders that is getting stuck in Prewash, the following is occurring with one of my doubles:

-sticks in the middle of the wash cycle
-water continues to flow into the liquid dispenser B section
-tub just keeps spinning

Would this be a problem with the timer getting stuck (no more using WD 40 on the timer) or could it be a water valve to the dispenser not closing at the right time thus letting the machine know it can proceed with the wash cycle?

If my question seems a bit naive, well it is as I'm only a two-week owner.

You say the water is running non stop. Is it filling into the tub or just going out the drain. If it is then check drain valve for debris or replace valve. If it is filling but running non stop then your level switch is bad or your air tube is leaking or blocked.
