I have a W184 that won't stop spinning in rinse cycle(won't complete wash). The water continues to run ,but I don't see the washer filling with water. The door will also open when the machine is in the rinse cycle.Even I know that the door shouldn't open until the wash has completed.

Thanks in advanced!

Check the drain for a foreign object. Sometimes a bra wire will get stuck in the drain causing the drain to remain open. The timer will not advance until the water fills up.

If the washer door will open during the cycle, you need to repair the door lock mechanism immedetialy. This is a big safety (liability) issue.

1. Turn off the power to the washer.
2. Remove the front panel.
3. Remove the screws from the round trim piece that surrounds the door opening. You don't have to remove the trim piece, just swing the left side forward.
4. Close and latch the door.
5. With your finger, push the door lock solenoid plunger to the right, locking the door. It should move freely, and return to the left when released.
6. While holding the solenoid depressed, try to open the door.
7. If it will open, you need to replace the black locking bar and\or the "hook" on the door. If the door will not open, you probably have a bad solenoid.
8. There is a kit available that has all the necessary parts to repair the door lock mechanism.
9. Sometimes a few adjustments will also fix the problem.
