SQ SWT521 won't agitate

Hello all,

I have several Speed Queen topload SWT521s sometime won't agitate after filling up water (just stuck with timer won't count down). After reset circuit breaker then the machine would agitate. I need your advice on this. Have you ever seen this problem?. Thanks so much.

Try swapping the timer with another machine to see if the timer is causing the problem. Also check the motor.

Have had this problem with the exact same model machine. It happened so infrequently that, we just unplug the machine to reset it

I was wondering, do you suppose it could be the motor overload protector stopping the machine due to the motor overheating, then when the power is reset, it also resets the overload, causing the machine to start again

Mine have done this internitantly since day one. A SQ factory tech came out and replaced all the controls and installed static filters in the harnesses. It's the electronics, they're very suseptible to static. It happens with the electronic frontloaders also. You have to have an attended store with these macines. Just unplug them or turn the breaker off then on.
