I haven't personally observed this yet, by my attendants swear that one of my dexter upper stacks will stop itself and then restart after a few minutes. I've looked at the CPU board and there doesn't appear to be any loose connections. I'm thinking the next thing to check would be the high temp thermostat (I think I just need to take a resistance reading on it?) or possibly look in the exhaust line for some obstruction. Anyhow have more experise on it?

Most likely the dryer is going into thermal overload and shuts off, later when it cools off it starts up again. Replace the motor.

You also might want to check the motor wire on the computer board. (red/blue and red-white/blue-white) These have a tendency to break at the spade crimp. Just give them a gentle wiggle (with the power off of course) if they are compromised they usually snap pretty easy...another way to tell is charring at the crimp. If they are turning black, replace them. This can cause low voltage to the motor causing it to draw too much amperage and overheat.
