New Owner bought an unattended store about 5 months ago. Started doing WDF, and Commercial Accounts. I have 10 older American single pocket dryers about 20 years old. They are breaking down left and right. I am gonna purchase 5 new stacks. Does anyone have any suggestions for brand of dryers. I am in the South Shore of Massachusetts. I have 3 stores within a 4 mile radius of me. Seems like Maytag and American are the favorites around me. The maytag salesman I spoke with was an OK guy, but I have had such an impossible time dealing with the MacGray Service Department. I dont think they are an option. Americans Salesman has never returned my phone call. I have bought Speedqueen Machines new in the past (Horizon Washers). I have IPSO triples in my store that have held up very well. I am leaning towards either Speedqueen or IPSO for the Dryers. Was wondering the pros and cons of the machines. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Bart

The SQ stack dryer and the Ipso stack dryer are bassiclly the same dryer, just cosmetic differences. The Ipso stack (IPD30) has Ipso's computer rather than on one made by SQ. Both dryers are made by SQ's parent Alliance Laundry Systems.

ADC is in your back yard, they are made in Mass. Call the main office. Also, MAcgrey is based in Cambridge as well, I have email address of a person who can get you results if you want.

American dryer is definitely the way to go. Forget mac gray-- They are more interested in the route business than coin laundries. Call Bill Reed @ Daniels Equipment-- 800-258-3570 Tell him I told you to call- Fair, friendly and the best business ethics I have seen in the industry.

I've worked on various stack dryers and i am really pleased with the engineering design of the new td 30x30. You can actually dry with a temp of 150-160 degrees effectivly. The older dryers had the same ability but were much to finiky. A dryer is a dryer but what it can save you year end and overall makes a big difrrence.

Temperature really does not mean anything when you compare dryers as they all measure it at a different point. Further, it is a function of air flow not just temperature. A dryer at 150 degrees with 500 cfm will probably dry faster than a dryer at 175 degrees with only 300 cfm. The only way to compare is side by side with an identical load of clothing.
