View Full Version : 75# stack question
Hi all,
Once again I would appreciate any input on my latest idea. I have room to pull 1 30# stack and replace it with a larger model. Anyone have any recomendations or do not's they want to share? I'm thinking of adding a say 50# stack. Does ADC make the best? Thanks for any help!

The large dryer is an excellent idea. I have three mats. One has a dexter 80# (HATE it). Another has 2 Huebsch 75# and the customers lovev them (I do too). Another store, new aquisition has only stacks. I will be looking at the larger dryers at Clean Show. One of my stores has ADC stacks. I can honestly say - these are great dryers. About 6 year old 283's. Easy to clean, easy to maintain. My Hubesch are 18 months young and they kick ass with the dual motors (not that I like the idea of an extra motor to break -- but). Now, they will be a pain to clean -- Huebsch/SQ dryers suck from a link perspective....
I would get the larger model (75-80#). The cost differnce is minimal between a 50#and a 75#, and you can charge accordingly. Your customers will like being abale to dry large comforters efficently and if you have several large front loaders, this will help your overall dryer capacity. I have seen customers take 4 Horizon loads an put into one 75#'er.
My issue with the Dexter is that it has never really performed. I do not use it. I have had it checked many times and I must just have a poor performer. Even the distributer has questioned my dis-satisfaction, pecially since he knows I remodled an entire store without HIS equipment!!
ADC doesn't make any 50# stack,Cissele is the only comany made extra large stack, they have made 75# stack for a few years,I have not seen any in my area.
I did not realize the 50# stack was not a common piece of equipment. I really would like to replace a stack with a larger stack. Anyone have any 50# cissele's? Is there any other company that makes a large stack? Why arn't there more? Interesting. Thanks for the info!

Do you have any idea on the price of a 50lb stack dryer? And how big it is?

Anybody own one of these guys. I'm thinking of swapping out 1, 30# stack for this unit. So far only Cissell(sp) makes them. Do they hold up? Can I work on them myself when they break? Is this really the only big stack maker? Thanks for any info!
Thanks for the link Marc! very usefull info.

I am looking to start replace some of my dryer, starting with a couple of 50+ ones. I am intrigued by the Cissell 75lb stack but have not read any reviews on them yet. Whatever brand of large dryer I go with I'd like to continue using that brand for the replacement of the remainder of the dryers over the next few years. So it's important that I make the corrrect decision. I do like the older Huebsch/Speed Queen dryers, been using them for 30+ years but have read some negetive opinions of the new models.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
The price I'm getting for the 75# stack is about 8080.00 plus tax plus shipping plus install. So I'm looking at around $9500 or so when it's all said and done! Not very cheep but a great way to add dry capacity and I am short. Gotta do some electrical to get 220 to it but aside from that the install should go smooth. I'm being told that alliance makes the same dryer for several brand names of which one is Cissel. 90 days labor and 3 years parts is the best warrenty I've seen so far. I'm gonna do it, takes about 4 weeks to get the machine. I'll keep you all posted on customer feed back. I'm thinking 3 minutes for 25 cents. Right now my 30# stacks are 8 min. for 25 cents so that seems reasonable to me. Any thoughts? Also these two stacks have a higher btu rating that 4 30# pockets!? so I don't know if I'm saving anything on the gas side, but it will definately help customer satifaction if no one has to wait for a dryer after these are in.

Alliance does not make this dryer. This dryer is based on the old Cissell/IDC design. Proceed with caution. I've only heard negative grumbling about them.
