Thinking about doing a April/May sale on washing comforters. I currently charge $15 per comforter. $10 extra for down filled. I thought I could wash a few at the same time in my Dexter 75 pounder to save costs. At the sale price of $10 each, I thought I might be able to attract new customers that don't usually come into my laundromat. Has anyone tried this promotion? Should it also be repeated in the Fall? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Andy

I was thinking of a sale also. Where do you plan on advertising it to get new customers? I was planning on in store promotion, but that will not draw the new customers.

Have a nice sign made for the front window. Onedaysigns or Fastsigns makes nice ones for very low prices and it can be saved for the fall too.

Get a banner made for the outside of your building. Set the price you can live with and use the banner several years.

while I am not putting anything on sale, I will agree with the others to signage at your store. If you have a decent location with good road traffic a nice sign will bring in customers, and be cost effective, as most will live near by. Yellow pages, newspaper ads work in small towns with one or two mats.
I have a sign in my window posted year around promoting comforter washing. This is the only "promotion" I have ever had success with. I'd bet if you just had a sign made stating that you wash comforters for $15 each you will see an increase.
