If you are replacing all your dryers with new dryers, which dryers would you buy?
Hi Buddy,
I too am in the same position, but I'm torn between ADC and Hubesch. So, I'm looking into both. ADC 75 are least in depth but hubesch 35lb(new) are hot(90k BTU) like dexter.

Are you considering maytag as ADC's?

Buddy, You forgot Maytag unless you classify them as ADC
I would go with the maytag stacks again. Been very happy with them.

I 'm just finnishing re=tooling an entire store. Went with the Hubesch line.
12 30# stack dryers
2 75# dryers
My other store has 16 ADC AD-235's about 5 years old. I think the ADC are great. We'll see how the Hubesch work out.
Also, the washers:
4 60#
10 30#
10 Horizon's
No tops, yet. Looking for some used ones.

I just installed seven used ADC 330's.
I have been cautiously optimistic so far. (about 2 weeks.)
I went with the 330's because I have a depth consideration. (vs. the ADC 235 or 236 line.)
I also went with a stack because I wanted to reclaim some floor space.

Good poll - I will be replacing a ton of dryers next year. The local distributor tells me that mats buy all Speed Queens, but OPL buys nothing but ADC. I'm pretty much sold on the ADC 285's, with a couple of larger machines for the Milnors. He says that the new rage is the 75 pounders, only costing about $100 more than the 50 pounders.

Was wondering what the price range is on these new dryers? I may be buying a few soon.
Thanks Reg

Didn't talk price yet - maybe someone else on the board can come up with some numbers. I'm going to use Pres. Bush's increase in the business deduction per year for equipment purchases.

I'm looking at upgrading my Maytag (ADC) stack dryers with Hubesch. But because my mat is small and I don't have a lot of square feet left - I'm looking at purchasing the Cissell 75lb stack dryer. If anyone has purchased a Cissell dryer I would be interested in hearing about it.
rsines,
What is the problem with your maytag (ADC) stacks ?
Rsines,
I looked into the Cissell 75# stack when it came out but didn't buy one. Since then, I heard thru second hand sources that it didn't stand up to use.
What brand of dryers do you own/which ones would you recommend? Also, space not an issue, do you personally prefer stacked or single tumblers?

my recent quote for dryers was: SQ model stt30bcy card ready, 2x30 stack tumbler $4,286 each.
SQ model st050by 50lb. $2,457
These prices are not installed
My entire equipment quote to re-tool my store was: $168,742.00
Plus $110,000.00 for the contractors
Plus $275,000.00 for building YIKES!!!!

Just put in 3 Wasco coin-drop TD50's. I installed them myself (wasn't that bad since I was replacing old ones...All the connections were there already). Total cost (machine, tax, delivery) was just under $8K

If space is not an issue, go with single pocket dryers, as customers prefer them to stacks. I operate a store with Heubsch single pockets, and ADC 330 stacks. The Heubsch get used more, but the ADCs have a higher frequency of repair, and the parts on the ADCs are generally more expensive.

Huebsch and Speedqueen should be combined since they are the same dryer.

they market them differently around the country just like ford vs. mercury same car.

Question on Huebsch & SQ. Are they really, truly the same dryer except for nameplate? They're both made by Alliance, probably in the same factory, and seem to share identical technical specs, but are there any differences in internal engineering design?
With some other dryer brands, people always say that though they have may Wascomat or Maytag nameplates, they were really made by ADC, implying that they were ADCs under the hood. But my understanding is that ADC might be building them, but that they were building machines designed by other companies - some designs good, some not so good...

Speed Queen and Heubsch are the same dryers. The only difference is the name and the control panel. Mechanically they are exactly the same. Parts are interchangable. Speed Queen is the high end piece, and may have some extra technological features, but that's it. If they were cars Speed Queen would be the Mercury, and Heubsch would be the Ford.

That's right Walter, the machine is designed around others specifications. The Maytag stack uses their Computrac Computer board and their Thermistors in their MLG32PD model. Which is remotely accessible with a wand (remote control) to change the programms of their dryers or washers. Great Concept.

Hey Mark,
Per our conversation, the other day you discussed with me anytime there are manufactured equipment under another manufacturers equipment branded name, the manufacturer who is placing the equipment in production is actually manufacturing the equipment according to the BRANDED company's specification. Therefore whenever anyone purchases equipment manufactured by one company yet branded by another should understand if issues arise where the inception of the issue comes from, they need to understand these points.
In BD'S case, as a seasoned veteran in the industry, he mistakingly placed the blame of his issues and what he feels is poor performances of the MLG32 adc manufactured equipment to be an overall American issue and that all ADC dryers fall short, which is the opposite from what many have said here. His biggest complaints with this particular dryer has been the thermistor issue and the fact the dryers do not get very hot, which both issues fall with the specifications given for manufacturing. Understanding more about this type of information you are providing store owners to make better decisions in the future for equipment purchases.
Thanks for your help!
Kitty
