I have old Huebsch 32DG Stacks. Many of them have burnt or melted connectors and in some cases partially burned wire.
Wondering if anyone else had this problems and what is the best way to re-wire them. I bought bunch of connectors and pins from DigiKey but if possible I would like to rewire the whole thing instead of cutting and splicing the wires half way and extending them.
I am also looking for Service Manual for these Dryers.
Thanks,

This a serious thought for you. Why rewire? I've used alot of machinery with the "stiff" old, burned wire. It works fine.
If you really want to spend money, I know for a fact that SQ still sells Wire harnesses for thier dryers. I'm sure Huebsh is the same. Just another part number...they will have some sort of manual too,

I love my old 32DG's. I have had a burnt wire or two now and then, usually because of a shorted switch (especially the door open switch for the door). I have spliced them and added the same awg wire (using a molex type channel connector that is crimped to make contact) and they work and hold up fine.
If I had serious burnt wire problems, I would be inclined to (1) find the cause before doing any remedial work and (2) replace the harness by running an exact duplicate alongside of the original, wire-by-wire, color-by-color.
If a harness assembly is available, I would buy that.
Considering the cost of a stack ADC and the reliability and usefulness of these old dryers, it is a no-brainer to spend the time and money to repair them.

I assume you have a schematic. The ones supplied by Huebsch with the 32DG have both a wiring diagram and a physical diagram. Using this schematic, it isn't too difficult to trace wires.
The operator's manual doesn't bring much to the party repair-wise. Nevertheless, Huebsch (Alliance) still sells them.
If you have problems, there are several bulletin board members that own the same dryers and have lots of experience with their feisty personality and moodiness.

I have bought harnesses recently but those are to connect front computer boards to the panel. The problem I have is where the wires end up on the panel where computer board connects.
I have bought molex type connectors but I would have to splice the existing wire and extend it by connecting new wires with twist-on wire connectors and then crimp the end to molex connector and mount it on the panel. I was hoping to re-wire it from the source and connect molex connector at the end and mount it on the panel.
The main reason for wires burning out are the door siwtches. The terminals on the door switches are exposed and we frequently find hair pins, key chains and other metal objects dangling from the switch terminals and shorting it out.

You can re-wire from the source. The schematic that comes with these dryers will indicate where the junction box is located and the color coded wires that go from the junction box to whatever it is you are re-wiring. Use the same color and size wire. Follow the original harness.
Worse case, go ahead and add wire but do not use twist on electrical connectors. Either solder and insulate or crimp on the wire with a plastic connector. You may also want to consider using shovel clips or a molex connector to make the extension, depending upon the wire you are replacing and whether or not is is easily accessible (for the future).
Regarding the switch contacts: Since they need to be removeable to take off the front panel, I wrap mine in a semi-rigid plastic sleeve (copying Wascomat's design for its door assembly switch) and tighten it down using those plastic ties things. It keeps them from being shorted out and arcing.

Thanks Howard for the Tip. I do not have wiring diagram but I will call Huebsch and see if they can fax it to me or e-mail me.
