I a have a mat in the northeast. Is business generally slower in the winter and busier in the summer, or vice versa? I've only been open since Nov. 04'.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

From what I hear, it's supposed to be busier in winter and slower in summer. I just bought my laundromat Nov '04 as well and it has been slow. Really slow. Let me know if you discover the secret to making it busy.

Good luck.

Mee

Whether it is busy in winter or summer, depends somewhat on your geographical locations and local environment. For my market, winter is generally better than the summer times.

Similar to your situation, my store opened in Dec, 04, but is doing well since open and business is going strong months after months. Just make sure work hard and less play time or family time should help you thru.

My Laundromat is in the Northeast and it is much slower in the Winter (especially January and February). It will pick up in March and be really good starting in April/May to November.. Could be as much as a 20% difference

Here in the hot weather its slower in the summer too. No school for the kids and people just wear less clothes. But on the other hand its the best time for a vacation too.

I have owned my store for two years now, for me here in NJ defiantly much busier in the winter. July being my slowest mouth.
