I have an opportunity to pick up a large account for WDF. It would be hundreds of towels a day from a health club. Has anyone quoted one of these before? I'm wondering what the going rate per towel is.

Are they all the same color(white) and sizes.
What would be the approximate weight? (how many laundry bags?)

We do about 1700lb a week of WDF for non-commerical accounts.
We charge 1.25/lb
We also do another 1800-1900lb a week of Commerical Linen (Towels, Sheets, Blankets, Spreads, Rags, Mopheads, Patient gowns) for two small hotels, some salons, tanning stores and medical offices. For this we charge depending on the item washed/per pound.
Towels: .90/lb
Sheets: 1.15/lb
Blankets: 2.75/lb
Bed Spreads: 12.00/each
Rags: .90/lb
Mopheads: .90/lb
Patient Gowns: 1.00/lb
MISC: 1.15/lb

I had an account with the fitness center of a local country club for a while. I charged my standard pickup/delivery rates by the pound, which worked out to about a buck a towel - that was too much for this fitness club manager. I think he was hoping for something closer to 70 cents per towel (which just isn't worth the trouble, in my opinion).
Meanwhile, my biggest commercial account is similar to a fitness club - towels, facecloths, robes - I charge a flat rate of $1.10/pound, no problem.
Good luck.
