Has anyone put one of those DVD Kiosks in their laundromat (or are thinking about putting one in)? If so, what percentage do you get (if you do not actually buy the machine)? And does it make money???

I live on a key in Florida, which doesn't have any video rental stores on it. The local market (a high-end 7/11) just put one of these in, and it's going gangbusters! It literally was the buzz on the island the week it was installed. People swing by, pick up a bottle of wine, etc. and a DVD.

I don't think it will fit in my mat because:
1. I'm next to a video store!, and
2. Even if I wasn't next to a video store, my sense is I don't have enough walk-in traffic to make it profitable.

I'll try to remember to get the Company # off the machine the next time I'm in and post it so you can give them a call.

Wish I'd thought of this little invention.......

I have been learning about this for over a year now. There a handfull of companies providing these machines. Many do not give you support. They just want to get the machine to you.
There is one that is built great and they provide support. It is GetaMovie. Actually all machines are connected via the internet so 'communication support' is going on.
The company is one block from where I work. They are top notch.

You can learn more - very interesting reading www.Getamovie.com

I'm a few block from the supermarket, which rents DVDs and VHS, plus our local library has a pretty good selection. Talking to people around town it seems like netflix is getting a fairly large market share here. Yeah, I know netflix doesn't serve well for spontaneousness, but people around here are already used to planning ahead for most things since we are 80 miles from all but the most basic services. I'm sure the DVD rental Kiosk would work very well in some laundromats, but I don't see it doing well in mine.

Video rental is big businnes in my area, most large chains have stores here, all the big boys lower the price try to put each other out of business.3,4 family owned video rental cloesd in the last few years.
So I don't think this will make any money in my market.

Went to the local market last night. Met two neighbors getting DVD's in the short time I was there.

The maker (distributor?) of this machine is:

Tell them you saw there company's name and Phone Number on Coinwash.com,and that they should join and become a Sponsor of Coinwash.com too.
He must be a neighbor of mine, but I don't know him. Wish I'd thought of this.....
