A salesman called my stores a few times, offer .83 a therm for gas for 5 years,he said the price will go up over $1 per therm but he is a salesman.
I paid .63-.60 per therm right now,how much do you pay right now?

I did pay $0.65/therm.. but then my contract expired and I am floating.. my last bill was for $0.94/therm...

No one has any idea where the gas prices will go.. It went sky high in november, but has since come down a lot.. I feel there is a lot of room for it to come down even more, especially in the spring (when gas prices tend to go lower).
I am waiting, and hoping I will be able to lock around 0.70 to 0.80 in the near future..
here is a chart for the past year for gas prices:
http://www.wtrg.com/daily/gasprice.html
(you divide the NYMEX by 10 and then add about 30 or so cents to get the therm price of what a supplier will offer you..)

Is a therm 100 cuft? My bill is computed by CCF, currently paying about $10 per thousand cubic feet.

$1.12 total. The gas itself is .81 per therm. Delivery charges with all the swing charges and taxes and customer charges is .31. This is the lowest it's been in six months.

whoops I did not include the delivery charge which is also around $0.30/therm.. But I think that is only with the Gas Company (I do not think you can get another company for the delivery charge)

The delivery company owns the pipeline all the way up to your meter. Not much choice there, unless you have multiple gas companies with pipelines near your laundry. This would be pretty rare.

Mine from .78 a therm for the last 2 years to .989/therm.

Start dropping the minutes on the dryers.

I raised my dryer prices from $0.25/8 min to $0.30/8 min.. and put up signs saying it was because of the rising cost of gas...

I remember bitching three years ago locking in at .15 - .18 per therm plus delivery.

Those were the days.

My current lockin is .698 per therm plus delivery which is about .20per therm.

I just remember the last 2 months of the top of my head. The process below are for the gas, not deleivery which is around .30 per term.

November was at 1.06 per therm
December was at .90 per therm

I will need to look more closely into a contract. If somebody could let me know the pros and cons of this type of arrangement it would be appreciated.
