What wording do you find best?
I want to put new sign lettering in my window. The matt is used by people of all different languages.
What is more universal -
COIN WASH
COIN LAUNDRY
COIN WASH LAUNDRY
COIN LAUNDROMAT
or what else?
Note: from previous posts, I've decides to go white with red letters, thanks pete

I vote for "Laundromat".
Plain and simple. cheaper amount of letters, more to the point.

If your mat is unattended I like your store name with Coin Laundry.
If it is attended I like your store name with Laundromat.

my sign is red with white writing and the sign is 7yrs old and looks new.
Here in Quebec, I don't have any choices, "lavoir" is the law !

srhaz, you can even copy my sign. It says "Coin Laundry"
I guess I like the coin part becuase it leaves little doubt what the business is, where laundromat might make people think it is a dry cleaner or commercial type biz. I try to leave little to chance..
I know some areas the local name is different, washateria (sp?) I here is more common out west.
What does everyone in your area call them selves? Most my comps are coin laundry.

my sign simply says WASH & DRY and so does few others in my county.

After getting over myself and flights fantasial fancy about grand signs that shout how great I am I just spent $3000.00 on a new 24" x 20' channel letter sign that says COIN LAUNDRY. The background is 70' long and 6' high painted red and the letters are white. Installed it myself taking the better part of three days and enjoying it. The rental scaffold was helpful. There is a Staples store a block away and we look like cousins. Since installing it a few local comps stopped by to pay compliments and ask about cost and other details. Nice to have them visit.

Do you have a picture of it you could post or e-mail so that we could see what it looks like?

Chuckels, EXCELLENT sign!
It shows that first impressions really do count.
Nice use of windows as well, makes me want to get rid of some of the clutter on mine..and I have very little.

Thanks to all for your supportive comments with good reviews on the sign. I honestly can not say that biz has increased much since the install but I am taking the long view with hopes that it will matter over time when turnover in the area occurs.
