You get a business plan by sitting down and writing it from your mind. You can get programs to help you or even see others for inspiration but do not skip the critical step of doing it yourself.

I spent literally 4 weeks on my business plan with numerous revisions for the SBA. It was well worth it.

Kyle, would you mind sharing yours? Or possibly posting an outline or helpful guide to how to start one. I have yet to proceed in this direction , as I have not found a mat. But it would be nice to be more prepared than I am today. It would be a helpful thread if you are interested in taking the task. It is a hard thing to start, you could be most helpful.

Well, mine was about 65 pages total. I don't have the file anymore due to a hard drive crash but I do have the document still. My best advice would be to get a program called Business Plan by Jian.

I am unable to open this document, if anyone can help.
I am on a mac,
I see the file name as ending in .DO (I think this is because my file names are at their max # of letters)
I changed it to .DOC by cutting one of the previous letters in "laundromat"
I tried to open it both ways.
I tried it with microsoft word "open"
I have stuffit on my computer, but it won't open it, any ideas ? (other than the obvious "learn how to use a computer")

The SBA has a decent page for a Business Plan outline. Shows you the elements of a good plan. But it isn't specific to any one biz.

this sure was a popular thread. I give cesar credit for reading, I thought it was new post..

I wrote a business plan when I was 19 to buy my tire store. I had no computer, let alone internet. The bank told me they wanted a business plan, I asked what was that? They said give them something about how the biz will operate and guesstimates for income and expense. I wrote one within a few days of that.
The web sites listed are a good starting place, every plan will be different because of local function, ie, rents, water costs, comp, etc..
Write down your outline of how you plan to run your store, what it will cost you, what you reasonably expect for revenue.

K.I.S.S. worked best in my case, my plan was 3 pages, outlining revenue growth and expense for the future 3 years.

For SBA you may need to pad it up to 20 pages hehe

If you are starting out new, the experience of writing your own plan is most beneficial when you open. I will be glad to send you a copy of my outline, but the "meat and gravy" parts the the SBA wants has to come from your deligence. The SBA WILL ask you questions on that plan, and you will have to be on top of your game if you want thier support. You can check out the thread "Finally Financed", and get an idea of the time it takes to get a good business plan.

If you are still willing to share your business plan, I'd like to have a copy. I have run my own coin op for 20 years and I am working on purchasing property and building a second store. All help is appreciated.

If Coinwash.com was able to provide a business plan , what would that be worth??
Many websites sell stuff, this one does not. So, if sold, what would you pay>? $200, $300< ??

Everyone please be encouraged to donate to coinwash. I am sure any thing is of great help when many participate. $5, $10, $20, or more ... it all adds up.
