View Full Version : Rebuild Dryer Motors?

Over the past year I've replaced a couple of cylinder motors for Huebsch stack dryers and am wondering if it's worthwhile to send the faulty motors somewhere to be refurbished.

I guess economically it's a good idea, but is it a good idea in practice? If so, any recommendations on how to find a place to repair these motors?

Thanks ... Mungo

When did Alley close? Why did Brian close the place and what is he doing now?

I don't have stacks, just the full size 30#. Whenever I have a motor problem, I pull it out and take it to the local electric motor repairman. It costs only about $20-$30 to fix whatever is wrong, usually bearings.

This guy constantly amazes me. He has been blind since birth, but can instantly identify a motor by feel, and immediately begins to tell all kinds of specs about it. The down-side of it is that he is rather slow to get repairs done, he likes to talk..............
