I have a Speed Queen top loader that continues to fill and then flood. The water does not stop running. I have changed the pressure switch and the machine ran fine for a couple of weeks.

I can forward the cycle manuelly and the water drains fine out of the machine. ANY HELP would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

Problem with the hose to the pressure switch maybe? A blockage that got temporarily cleared, say, when you replaced the pressure switch...

I'm grasping here, new to these toploaders myself.

Take a close look at the clear hose that is attached to the tub and runs to the pressure switch. Make sure no chaffing to cut thru has occured. double check the tieghtness of the clamp at the tub on the plastic "thing" and at the pressure switch. Blow thru the line to make sure no water is in it. My flood SQ problems were a loose fit at the switch. some early models used red stuff to seal the deal, it is the same red stuff used in a seal kit. You need air tight from tub to switch.

If the water continues to run when you raise the lid, it's the water mixing valve that is defective. If the water stops when you raise the lid, the problem is in the pressure switch system (hose, switch, wiring, etc).
