Dryers;
I pulled the bearings out of two 50# dinasaurs yesterday.
One was a Speed Queen, the other a Norge. The bearing housing, drive, drum all seem to be about the same between the two.
Except; The Norge had a 3208 bearing (I believe is double row) and the SQ had a 6208 (single row). The SQ housing also had a oiler cap and the Norge did not.
Are double row necessary - or just a 'better upgrade'? They are double the price of single row. Not sure if someone put a cheap single row in my SQ.
Also, I want to go double sealed and forget about the oiler. Oil would have to be a open bearing and it looks like the outer side is exposed to my dusty environment (old design?).
Comments - suggestions?
