I've been in business about 2 weeks, now my ipso door won't unlock. The problem is I can't find (or don't have) a key for the top service door.

What is the easiest way to deal with this? Drill it out?

Thanks,

John

Do not drill out the service panel lock on the top panel. You can open the washer door from the front of the washer without removing the top washer panel. First, remove the 2 screws on the front bottom panel (one on each side). After removing, you should see a string with a small round weight attached to the string hanging on the left side of the machine. When you pull this string, it should release the door lock.
There are numerous reasons why the door lock did not release and you will probably have to take the front panel off to fix. You should be able to get a service lock key from your local IPSO distributor or call IPSO direct and they will sent it to you. Good luck!

Thanks a million Andy - I had seen that little pull-down ring in the documentation, but it hadn't occurred to me that it was accessible from the bottom panel. Duh!

The key # is 016 and you can order it from Arrow Parts.

The update from this morning: The lock is non-functional, the top is just bolted on in the back corners. The door lock was a stuck solenoid, I increased the spring tension on it and it is now working fine.

And I was wrong, it isn't a WE-181, it is a WE-165C.

So my machine is back up before the weekend, I'm a happy man.

Thanks, mechanical aptitude is one of those things I think you are just born with, and luckily I was one of those guys.

On second thought I suppose it would have been luckier to have gotten the skills of starting internet companies and making zillions of bucks... oh well, I'm still happiest messing with the wrench, so that's fine.
