Timer advance not functioning

I have one washer (SQ SC20) with a non-functioning timer advance button. What steps should I take to diagnose the problem?

Not to be a smart ass but is the switch bad? Does all other functions of the machine work? Probably a loose wire or connector or connection.

Smart ass, not really! The machine is fine otherwise. How would I go about determining if the switch is bad? Should I just switch it with another machine?
