I've got an ADC-236 that has a tear in the basket from a F$%&^$ing customer with nails in their pockets. I have tried patching it before, but that only lasts so long. So now I want to remove it and weld a piece of metal for a "permanent" fix.
So, the question - how do I attack this. I have no clue where to even start in removing the basket. What steps do I need to take and what problems should I expect to run into. Thanks.
Call around and find a welder that has a small portable mig or tig welder and fix it right in place.

Remove the front panel.....Remove the main pulley....loosen the set screws on both bearings. you may have to heat the screws to melt down the lock tite used on the set screws........ push the basket out....there is a special puller AND extension legs sold by ADC for this purpose
You'll get a better repair with the basket out of the machine. Have you priced a new basket ????? ADC has gone nuts with their parts prices !!!

Have no idea what a basket would cost, assume it is a lot - that is why I figured it would be best to just weld some metal in place where it is torn. Do you have any idea what a basket sells for?

Part # is 800721. List price is $373.12. + inbound freight. You should double check that part # though.

Thanks Marc, sounds like fixing it would be the better way to go at that price. Want to help me?
