I just installed a new motor, but it starts out very slow and then picks up almost too the correct speed but still lags behind the other dryer next to it. Did I hook up the wiring harness wrong?

If the motor is not a plug type motor then most likely you hooked up the power to the high side which is 220 volts. Recheck your wiring against the sticker on the side of the motor.
