Hello, I Have Some Old Loadstars In My Mat......they Have Ram Igniters On Them........the Problem Is That When The Burners Light They Dont Stay On Long Enough To Get Hot....i Can Hear Something Clicking On Top Of The Gas Valve.....any Insight On This Problem???????????????? Thanks In Advance
1,Most loadstars have a over temp switch in the back of burner,it is in the left side from the front, when it get old,it won't work on right temp.
You can bypass it to test it,if the dryer work right, you will need the new switch.
DO NOT KEEP THE OVER TEMP SWITCH BYPASS ALL THE TIME,TEST ONLY!
2,if the Ram high voltage cable get old or burn ,it may cause Ram turn on /off often.
Both 1,2 may cause from poor air flow or just old parts.
Also, check your ignitor, clean it up with sand paper if it is black.

I'm going to guess from the condition you described and assume that you have a G60 ignition system that was converted to a Ram 5 ??? If this is the case let me know, I'll explain what we do.

I also have some G60 units converted to Ram 5. Some of them would not ignite at all after the pilot was lit... As I understand it, the ignitor lights the pilot, which signals ignition, then the main burner turns on, and is lighted by the pilot. On the ones that only had pilot ignition, I wired together the wires from the Ram for the pilot and main burner. Now they work OK. Everything lights at once. Can this cause a safety problem if there is ignition failure??

the spark plug is also a heat sensor, I have had them fail in that test. If you have extra, swap the sparker and lead wire.
