View Full Version : SQ Top - No water when turned to hot

I have a SQ top that worked fine all day today but tonight when the temp knob was turned to hot there was no water. The only way to get water was to turn it to warm or cold. All the other machines around it were working fine.

If the line was plugged or the filter plugged (which was just cleaned a few months ago) there should be at least a drip or two going into the tub (at least I would think), but there was nothing at all.

Any ideas?

Chances are that you need a new water mixing valve. On tops these are non-repairable, throw away items. Cost is $6 or $7, and replacement takes only a few minutes. I have been fooled by removing the valve and testing it with water and applied voltage to the terminals. Occasionally a valve would work intermittently (for the test), then fail shortly thereafter. It's not worth the effort. Just replace the valve.
