My Dexter FL in mid wash blew the main breaker and filled the mat with smoke. (I did not record where the timer position was)
Reset breaker and it blows again as soon as the timer advances to wash.
I disconnected the motor wire harness to run the machine to see what would happen without the motor.
First, I noticed on the plastic wire harness connector at the motor, the T6 wire 'prong' in the connector is melted and the plastic is discolored (burned). Now I ran the machine with the motor disconnected and the timer advanced, but the inlet valves did not actuate (water did not come in)- but drain valve did open & close and at the end of the complete cycle it proceeded to start again. I assume this is because the motor wiring was disconnected, so I'm ignoring it. But the breaker did not blow as the timer went thru the cycles.
Does this sound like a bad motor or something else??
What is the T6 wire and why would it blow like that??

Sounds like the motor. Could also be sticking contacts on the wash contactor so when it gopes into spin or vise/versa it trips the breaker. First fix the burnt pin on the motor connector. Check the motor winding resistance of the spin windings to each other, then the wash windings and then all the wires to ground.
