View Full Version : Discoloration in Soap Dishes?

I have an attended mat and we constantly clean our 4-year old machines (Huebsch), but I'm starting to see black stains (mildew?) on the underside of the rubber covers on the soap dishes. The stains mostly seem to be over container #3 (the softener container).
What are these stains? And is there any way to get rid of them? Or do I have to buy new covers for the soap dispensers?
Thanks in advance ... Mungo
I've taken several of them off and really cleaned them out. If any of them are really really bad then go ahead and replace but most of is soap scum, should come off with little elbow grease.

I know what black spots you are talking about. Most of my Heubsch front loads get them also. Last week I went around with a little cup of bleach, and brushed it on the stained undersides of the lids. Next day the lids looked almost like new. (but the clorox ate the bristles on my little paint brush!)

You are THE MAN. Tomorrow I'm stopping at Home Depot on the way to the laundromat to get a paintbrush!
Thanks ... Mungo
