We have some SQ tops that are not quite 2 years old - I have already had to replace two pumps and have three more pumps that have gone bad (I will be replacing those next week). I know they are under warenty but we still have to do the work ourselves and pay for shipping twice (one to get the new part and once to ship the old part back).

Plus I have one machine that is down - the seal and bearing have gone bad. I have another that is about to go.

Is this comon for SQ tops that are so new?

YES,SQ top loader's quality has been going down last few years.
I had some old SA,they last over 15 years,I bought 20 SQ EA 14 years ago,I replaced 10 this year, they still have original seal and tram,I bought some 5 years ago,1/2 has bad seal, tram.
Seal kit only cost $40 but the laber and tools to take the seal out will cost a lot money.
I only has SQ top loader in my stores but I may not buy other SQ top loader again.

Speed Queen tops really disappointed me a few years ago. My old WA's where workhorses, some early Ea''s with the plastic lid pins same. I bought 10 EA 2121 about 8 years ago. within a few years trannys failed, motors failed, now the tops are rusted where the steel lid pins go in, I buy rubber cones and drill them out and stick in the hole to hold the lid. Never again SQ's. These washers have been in a store that got about 2 TPD.

And how about the prices on Speed Queen parts. Had to replace a tranny on a 7 year old, and wound up spending the better part of $300.00 and most of a day in labor. When I tear them down, I'll replace the seals, bearings, brakes, belt, ect. With the cost of a transmission almost reaching $200, it doesn't pay to rebuild them.

Beesmart sell rebuilt transmission and rebuild kit ,I feel it is not worth to rebuild toploader .
