I kust started staying open all night two nights a week and need a way to make it more appealing. How about having an "Unlimted Wash" where for $19.99 for the first month you can use all the washers and dryers you want btwn Midnight and 7am. After that it goes to 29.99 per month. I bill their credit card monthly and they can still use the card at other hours of the day. If they cancel their credit card, I cancel their card.

Some one might try to share it with a freind, but for the price it is hardly worth it. Make them show their id to use the card maybe? It is simliar to Blockbuster etal where they get you to sign up for unlimited dvds. They want to get you on monthly billing and in the store as much as they can.

What aspects am I missing?
Anyone seen this work?

I see someone trying to start a WDF business,

so you only get $19.99 a night, period ! and they get all the business.

I do like the idea though ! With some tweaking, it has great potential.

An old lady that I compete with in a certain building does laundry for dirt cheap (it must be a hobby for her as she cant possibly make a living doing this) would just love your prices.

I've thought about this many times, modeling it after the tanning salon next door. The problem for us is that we don't have fixed costs, we have variable costs, meaning are costs are directly related to the TPD.

The tanning salons know that you can tan only once per day, max. Blockbuster only has to pay for their videos once, it is irrelevant how many times the videos leave there store.

For us, without controls, someone could come in every night doing five or more loads, Yikes. We would have to limit the number of uses somehow. Maybe it's better to offer value packs.

I for one I would hire two people and have them take all the days wdf fold for processing at your store. Would you be ok with that ?

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking for some critics and I found them. I get tired of people not saying the truth out of courtesy.

Obviously I'd need a few disclaimers to keep people from abusing it. If I try it, I need a good price to start and then a bump up. Any suggustions?

If you are set on trying it, why don't you do it on a trial basis only? Make it a week or two and see how you have to tweak it to make it a winner and keep the abuse to a minimum.

Don't spend too much advertising it at first, either. Let us know how it goes.

The disclaimers should keep the mega-abusers at bay.

1- Only one per family (or address) per day
2- Limit the machines that can be used or the number of machines (maybe separate limits for # of washers and dryers).
3- You must register with ID to use the program
4- Limit the days and times it can be used - e.g., not on weekends, nights, holidays or other usually busy times.

Good luck!
