I am in Florida, and have "bad" months as well. There are months durring the summer, Aug and Sept, that if I broke even I was happy. When taking payments into consideration, some of these months were cash flow negative. Manage your good months well, and stock up on cash for the slow ones. I had this same problem when I was in Maine with another business, it got REAL slow in Feb, March. I learned then to not sweat something you have no control over, take time off to enjoy things, and manage the business finances so I could do that. Not to say I did not have some very slim moments at times.:) cook at home..in bulk.

Most businesses would love to have a slow season of only 10 - 15% off.

I live in the costal mid-Atlantic region. We have about 10 to 15% more revenue in winter than summer. I think it's because people wear less clothing in summer, and the kids only need shorts and a T-shirt rather than school clothes, sweaters, jackets and jeans.

Mine stays the same year round. I guess I am lucky.
Pet is right though just handle your money right and the slow time are not a problem. You may even find that you like it. One of my business is seasonal and I look forward to the slow time.

So far I have seen a increase since school started. I hope it picks up for winter. This is my first winter, We will see what happens....

I am in the camp with Winston; we see a roughly 20% increase after labor day. My theory is the same as his-kids are in school, they need school clothes and after school clothes when in the summer they only wear one set of clothes.
Even though I hate cold weather I like the winter revenue.
