Am looking for dryers. does anyone have a suggestion for type, mostly 30# but also need 50#.
also do you recommend refurbished or new? roughly what does it cost on install.
has anyone dealt with coinopusa in BUF.

any suggestions on security systems that can be accessed remotely and are DVR would also be appreciated.

Is there something I have done to offend? I am new to this and notice in general, most questions are responded to. just curious, I too would like to becoma a part of this industry. Have a potential deal and am trying to get some idea of outlay costs and who has a reputable used machines. I figured i would ask guys and gals who have been there done that. Just trying to reduce the pain when I cut my teeth. K

Just give it a bit more time. It is rare that a question goes unanswered on Coinwash. Even if no one has an answer someone will eventually point you in the right direction.

Everyone has their own opinion, but I would suggest ADC dryers - they are the work horse of the industry and are solidly built and easy to work on. I have mostly ADC-236 dryers and have had few if any problems with them. I also have an ADC 50# dryer which is a good dryer. The new Wasco dryers look nice and customers seem to like them, but many owners have been having maintenance nightmares with them. They are new and I would give them at least another year or so before considering them.

As far as dryers I would suggest avoiding used dryers, OK for washers but not dryers. Dryers are much more of a pain in the ass to maintain and you will be glad you went new. Plus, a new dryer will save you a lot more in energy compared to a used one - they keep improving them.

I think more like you have alot of question in one post. . Your local distributor would be a place to start for some answers about install or available dryers.. As for used stack dryers, good newer ones are hard to find becuase of the demand for them. Old used ones are not worth the bother, though if you have room you can probably find single pocket used dryers for a fair price. Old Speed Queens are known to be simple to fix and last almost forever. Not the older stacks, though. If you want to make a statement re habbing a mat, buy new ones. Peope will know the difference. Many operators skimp on new dryers becuase they are the most costly item to buy.

use the SEARCH tool above to find out about security and DVR.

typically new stack will run you about $4000 whereas a good new used will cost you $3000 to $3500. Anything older that 10years is inefficient and costs around $1800. I sold most of my 10 years old dryers for $1500 to a reseller who sold them for $1900.

You'll have to look at your pocket, preference, cash flow, clientelle and competitor to decide on what you want to buy.

Few stories to go with this:

I had one store 12 year old, lost lease, new guy came in, added all new equipment, increased his business by 15% by charging more for drying.

I bought a fixerupper store, threw out 20 year old dryers and washers, replaced them with new washers, hot dryers, increase business by 50% ...and not one customer complains about dryers NOT being hot.

Another store owner near me in a bad neighborhood replaced some of his dryers with used just as bad dryers, customers are happy that they have dryers now but are dealing with crappy dryers...the dryers didn't cost him much to replace...meanwhile it's going to take a while for me to recover the expenses of replacing new.

Another friend in the business had a competitor open a brand new 4000sqft store, lost about 20% of his business, ended up lowering his vend prices and is now bringing old customers back!.

You decide!!!

Against most of the advice I got on this site I bought 7 Huebsch stack dryers used, about 5 years old. I have had them 1 year now and have replace 1 igniter board, 1 set of gas coils, and one set of rollers, that's it, I guess I am lucky. Got them for half the price of new.

I have had both ADC and speedqueen and have more problems with the speedqueen for some reason. The only thing i have ever replaced on the ADC's were an occasional ignitor and one coil.... The speedqueen dryers always have an "error", "op error", or countless other problems. Thanks to this board, i know how to address each problem, however, i would rather have all ADC dryers and no problems.
