Hi to All,

I am new here to this board. I have been lurking and reading. Thanks to all of you who share your knowledge. I closed on my first mat today. This is the first business venture I have been brave enough to try.

I am not writing to ask for advice this time, I just wanted to share my excitement.

Lurk, read and buy, I like that. Now running the place will be the adventure. So you closed on your "first mat" does this mean you are STILL looking??
Good for you!

Now you will find stuff to post questions about!

Thanks for asking Rich, I'll tell anyone who asks I am having a blast. I love working for my own pocket. My decisions are based on bringing in more money. That is a different perspective than what I am used to (the education field).

My first order of business was to clean the place. It was a dump. My next job was to create more air flow for the dryers. Then I purchased a used soda machine and a used snack machine. Next, I will replace my money changer and I want to buy a frontloader big enough to wash comforters.

A money counter would be nice but for now I am keeping my 14 year old busy rolling quarters.

My mat has 14 toploaders and 9 dryers. It is only 1000 sq. feet. I bought the land and the business. I also have a restaurant on my property that I lease out to a Mom & Pop restaurant. It is ironic that I don't like to do laundry and I hate to cook and I own a restaurant and a laundry!

Thanks for your support. I'll keep you posted.
