How do you price your vend with card system. I do not want to use any .25 incraments at all when i open. I was thinking 2.99 , 3.35 ect and dryers i was going to do 10 min for .33. soap .65. Just wanted to get some card store opinions. Thank you for any help... sorry for the spelling

A very smart move on your part to think this out. My initial strategy was to price things in odd units so that people would not end up with a zero balance on their cards. Since I do not charge for cards, maintaining a postive balance would help to motivate people to retain and reuse their cards.
My dryers are priced at 29 cents, most of my washers have prices that end in either 4 or 9.
Like Kirby, we price all washing machines (six different sizes) ending in "9" while the dryers end in an "8". With this in mind, when we raise the washer prices (every 10-11 months), rarely do customers notice the change. Of course the prices are posted on the readers. When the last price changes took place in February, only two customers made any comments and business was up considerably!

can you give me an example of the old price and the new price after you raised it. Yes i want to price it without any quarter incriments.
1-2/2x (Huebsch) $1.49 to $1.69
2X--$.1.79 to $1.99
3X--$2.69 to $2.89
4x--$3.49 to $3.69
7x--$6.75 to $6.99
Our 7 toploaders have 9 TPD and we chose NOT to change those prices again which means they're currently at $1.29.
Yes, I know that our prices are terribly low but that's life and reality in sunny Los Angeles. The "dump" around the corner has just put in some new TLs and priced them at 75cents....ugh!!!!
Incidentally, there is talk that there will be a water hike of 18%
next month...........hmmm.
