Hi All:

There's a wealth of ads for generic replacement belts, filters, etc for most manufacturers, but I've seen few for Continental.

Any recommendations......quality of product?

Thanks

Continental parts have to be among the most expensive out there.
I've stockpiled multiple sets of parts i find (for my Cont. hardmounts)when close-outs etc. happen.

I've found another angle though: If you're referring to the Hardmounts, SpeedQueen used to stock (and list) many parts for them under SQ brand many years ago - and there are still places that have them cheap(er). SQ stockpiled them & had to be competitive with other brands - so often they are good deals.

Some cross-over numbers, but many parts are the same.

i think the generic parts you refer to are to American made mfrs. (AND wascomats for some reason)

All the european mfr parts are OEM, and very expensive: IPSO, PRIMUS/MAYTAG, CONTINENTAL

If you're talking Continental dryers, i'm sure you know they are american-made Dexters.

Good Luck

Continental parts are quite expensive expecially the door parts and computer. For the water valve (elbi) and contactors you could use a wascomat or alliance equivilant. I service a few Continental stores. Most of the stuff I repair on the hard mount washer is the door lock parts, valve diaphram, drain valve, and contactors. Very few problems with them. You can use an Alliance drain valve part# F380619 ? instead of the Continental part with is much more expensive.

As you know the Continental door locks via a thermal actuator. This part has a 3-4 year life.Dexter can provide you with the 220volt unit you need under part # 9586-001-002.Cost is less than half.Timers can be rebuilt and comp boards as well.I was a Continental dealer and spare parts were a nightmare!

Actually they have a modification to the door lock assembly that rewires the wax motor to an optional aux contactor that is attached to the wash and spin contactors. Don't remember exactly what is done but it is supposed to increase the life of this part.
