That's what insurance is for. I will take my chances there is no way I am going attended at this point. Besides he gets to update for the deductable on his policy. If mine ever burns I hope it goes to the ground. However I hope it doesn't it is kind of a pain.

I quit four years ago. When I did smoke, the stupid things people would do while smoking never failed to amaze me. Like this:

1. Smoke with an infant in hand.
2. Smoke in or on a bed.
3. Smoke around flammable materials.
4. Leave a lit butt in an ashtray.
5. Throw lit butts in brush. Dry brush at that!

And so many more I cant list. I usually dont criticize harshly but as bad as smoking is for the health you would think people couldnt be so dumb as to compound the danger.

Hopefully the camera will help in finding and prosecuting this guy to the fullest extent of the law. Most smokers are so addicted that they don't care where or when they smoke. I hope this guy gets what he deserves and wakes up before he kills himself or someone else.

I have the NO smoking sign at the door, and in other various places, not to say people don't try to sneak a butt.

I got a similar call about 3 am a few years ago. Some drunks lit my garbage can on fire. It was plastic, melted to nothing. Lucky me, someone was driving by, stopped and put out ther blaze. I got down there, all kinds of anti Irish IRA or whatever the orange call them all over the bathroom. All on tape, but no arrest I know off.
Then there is the time I had a blaze start in a dryer becuase of spontantous combustion at 2 AM. Some kids were smoking pot outside the back of the mat and called that one in for me.

Fires suck.

I am no smoker. Fire provoked by carreless smoker, that is something I never taked ito account in my plan.
Definitly NO SMOKING inside the laundromat.
However I started think about investing in fire alarm systems and automatic fire extingusher system. Just in case.

Something similar happened in my attended mat....I believe it was a pizzaria that brought in greasy rags or something like that and the dryer started on fire...

Luckily the attendant put it out and no damage, but the smell lasted for a week..

was that the pot smell ? :)

Mine was from a resturant/bar, doing rags. Put them in the dryer, only used 3 quarters ( 21 mins) the smoldering started about 10 min after the dryer was done. Of course the restraunt people were going to come back sometime to get them. And they did. I was there, it was a Kodak moment. Rest guy " I left a load of rags last week, did you see them?:eek:
Me: sure, are these yours? as I show him a 5 gal pail of burnt up crap the fireman thru in the bucket.
Him "umm.,, yes. what happened?, can I get a refund, they look burned"
Me: I'll refund ya you %%#$&&&@* Don't ever do your %#^#$$$# laundry here agian you sorry ^#$#**(!!. Good thing I don't carry a gun!
