Soap machine broke, bag machine pulled off the wall, changer manipulated for $400.00 with no help from Insurance Co. yet!!, and 3 days ago I misplaced a set of washer keys 21 machines. My temporary solution was to spend $70.00 for 20 pad locks and slip them through the channel in front of the coin box. Hopefully they will show up or stay lost somewhere out of reach of a theif.
I guess things could be worse. Maybe! Hopefully I am not becoming a glass half full guy.

We all have those weeks, or three weeks in your case. I hope things clear up for you.

I once left a coffee can full of quarters out for an entire day when a customer was nice enough to let someone in on my error.

How was your changer manipulated?

Same for me. Stole the bag machine, got maybe $2. Then stole one of the gumball machines. Next night, they ruined my snack machine (got no money), tore up my bill validator on the soda machine (got mabye $5), and smashed the remaining gumball machines. Never had a problem in the three years prior. Hope this is the last of it, knock on wood!

I had a bag machine broke into, twice. I ended up trashing it after the thieves trashed it. Hey, it was free to begin with, and they got the $3 in it, so I lost out.
I would be concerned about where them keys are... think hard!!

changer? model? what happened?
so far no troubles.
Sorry for yours,. hate to hear of an owner getting ripped..

It was a coin co and yes I have already changed it to a Mars. I was foolish to run the rishk of not doing it sooner.

I just found out today that I am getting about $150.00 back from my insurance Co. for the $400.00 loss. I have a $250.00 deductible. This has been my only claim in 12 years at that location. It's better than nothing.

BWJR,

Before you say "it's better than nothing",

wait for the other shoe to drop !

When you get your insurance renewal, I suspect you will discover it may have been cheaper to "eat" that $150.00 and not have reported the loss to your insurance company at all ! (I hope I'm wrong)

as Mike said, If they don;t drop you completely. I hope not.

Find those keys yet? that would be my biggest concern..

BWJR - let us know if the insurance raises your rates - even a little.

This weekend, my front (sheet-glass) door got smashed, just paid cash for replacement today.
I'm not turning it in to the insurance - have really, really low premium, and besides, deductible would be roughly same $.

On a tangent: i found out that laminated safety (NON-tempered) glass is the way to go - instead of tempered.
Not to mention cheaper.

I received my Insurance Quote about three weeks ago. I hope that is the end of it. I haven't had a claim in 10 years. Never!

In this area tempered glass is required in the door and the pain on either side. The glass man would not even install other as his liability would not allow.

I spoke to Coinco service center's tech this week,he said Coinco didn't change a lot design to stop the stringing, the new bill acccepter only add extra set of finger ,they know the porblems but don't know how they did it and don't know how to stop them!He suggested me to put a security system,LOL!

JBTcajun: Same here, tempered is required - except that "Laminated Safety" apparently can be substituted - = This stuff is STRONG, a strong kick would do nothing to it.

What i like about it better than tempered, is that even if hit hard with a hammer, it will not shatter in pieces or fall apart, the lamination keeps it completely in place - with No jagged edges.

Bonus: it's $cheaper than tempered, and there's no waiting for it (unlike tempered which Always must be ordered - due to the way its made.)
