Does anyone have a coin operated scale in their mat? How much does it make and where did you buy it from?

In the right market a scale makes money. The scales we have require no electrical. Our take was around 75-100 bucks for a 20 day cycle, free money!!

Kitty,

What brand scale do you have?
Are you happy with it?
How much did you pay for it?

We didn't buy the machines, the guy who has the tatoo machines offered to give them a try. One store does ok, the other store has two scales in it. We net 50% of gross sales. I don't see a name or anything on the scale, but if you'd like I'll ask the rep next time I see him...

The second site listed shows the one we have. IT is the second listed on the page, the scale with the lotto numbers. Customers love it, I have seen many weigh themselves, thenpick up their babies and weigh again, then the husband and the 3 kids............

Seems there is always another thing we can add to get another quarter. Never thought of a scale.
I like the one for about $1500.... says the coin box holds $3000 in quarters!
I have wondered about other machines, like the ones you see in gas stations and nite clubs for suppiles..Anyone got those personal items machines in thier bathrooms? If thye had one were you could buy TP out of it I would go for it!!!!

After a post from months ago we asked for the mega touch game, does awesomely!!! We get 50% on all video. We have several good machines, but the megatouch and galaga/pac man do outstanding, the scale is matching the sales of these.....

Kitty,

Are the Megatouch or Namco Galaga/Ms. PacMan used by teenagers at all? I would like to have a few games in the store, but nothing that will attract "non-customers".

Thanks!

I have the Megatouch game. I paid $3000 for it. It brings in $250 to $300 per month now. People of all ages play it, it has so many games. The nice thing about this game is the women like it. Women never play the traditional standup video games. The mega has card games that are more popular with women. The point is if you get one you won't be taking away from other games.

I have hesitated buying these machines because so many of our customers are neither literate in Spanish nor English. Have I made an incorrect assumption? Is your customer base educated? Does it matter?

ATM info will be provided to you this evening when I return from the 'mat---

This game can let the user define the language ( french, spanish-euro or central/south american, italian, portugese, english, and many others) I don't think it is a problem. Many of the games are image based games. So the ability to read is not an issue.

Also, I think the majority of my customers have little to no high school education.

Mega touch can be sccessed via several different languages. The scale, does better in a hispanic population than the store that has a minimal amount of hispanic customers. Kids, teens and adults play whatever we have. One store has a pool table and we do not have much of an issue of hanger outers.....

A scale holding 3G in Q's. Now that's kind of funny. just think if all our machines held 3 grand in quarters. Wouldn't have to go to the bank for years :)

Kitty, in all seriousness, i'm surprised at the jing this fat meter brings in. If I pro-rate what your saying here, it looks like your scale would gross over 2K/year ? Is that correct ? If so, I suppose you are considering buying one outright and collecting 100% ? What size mat are you using these scales in ?

Never thought of this. Sounds like a great idea, thanks for the comments. As long as there are Big Macs this seems like a sure winner.

Yep, around 2k net at one store. Nope have no considerations to purchase one. 2K a year to do nothing is so awesome, we have no plans to try to top this net by purchasing a scale and adding more *?**?**?**?* to my/our list........

At the time this was written, It is vended at .25 cents. The benefit to this particular item is in the placment and the spontenaiety of the customer.
