View Full Version : Slow W74

I have a W74 that takes about twice as long to run as my other machines. The drain is fine, and I have checked the intake screens for blockage. I'm suspecting the timer, maybe the stepper motor (is that the one on the left or the right, faced from the front of the machine?). I'd love to hear other ideas of what I should look for.
Thanks

Can you define what you call as "fine"? How long is it taking to fill? Is the water exiting the washer through the pancake valve. Did you remove the drain hose at the rear while the washer is filling to see if there is any leakage? If not then try it and see how much is escaping. If only a trickle then you are OK if not then you now know what to replace.

That's what I meant by fine. We have removed the hose and the drain is not leaking.
Thanks

How long does it take to fill to level? Well why not just change timer and see if all your problems are solved.

I had similar problem. The drain valve was fine and was not leaking but when I went behind the machine and disconnected the hose entering into main drain, it was clogged solid with debri and soap as a result it was draining slowly.

It sounds like it could be the timer. ....If it is filling properly..check wash fill on both hot and cold. Compare with another machine. Not the timer motor, probably loosing the 30 second step, internal of the timer.
