Closing Unattended Mats

This is a real newbie type question.

Are unattended mats typically closed by owner / janitorial service?

Anyone simply rely on the the door closing securely after the last customer leaves?

You can close them yourself, or pay someone to do it, or a little of both. You can also install automatic door locks, they will lock and unlock on a time you set. You would need an air conditioned mat because you have to leave the doors shut all the time.
