Unimac/ Maytag 1991 35lb intermitent final spin?

Works fine through 3rd rinse, softener flush etc. but somtimes advances to end of cycle early with no final spin? Drain is clear, door lock ok first 2 spins ok.
Timer?, drain motor?, pressure switch?, loose wire?

It could be the timer, but before undoing the "spaghetti" wires, I'd check the voltage going to activate the spin contactor. If the voltage is applied at the correct time, but no spin occurs, the contactor is defective. I have had contactors with intermittent problems. Other possibilities include failure of the pressure switch to reset and allow spinning, and of course there's always a hard to figure out drain problem (parital blockage past the dump valve, etc.)

How did you come to the conclusion that the door mech is OK? That one part can cause a multitude of problems. They are a piece of Junk. I have two 50#'ers. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
