Can anyone give me input on the ipso soft mount? Or IPSO in general. I like what Pete f said about the bottom drain and no spin out problems because of that. I will look at them to replace my tops. I have a full basement so draniage is no problem.

Thanks
Gary

I am probably the only one with those machines. Someone that was, or still is, on this board out in CA had them also. I think the machine manufactors missed the boat with the 20# soft mounts, they do not replace an 11 pound top load. I feel the reason is the bigger is better theory, floor space costing more so get more out of it. Also, the 12# IPSO costs almost as much as an 18# hard mount, so many say why spend that kind of money on a small machine. They make 2 seater cars for 60k and the make big SUV's for 25k, why would anyone buy a 2 seater for twice the price? answer: There is a market for it. I know there is a market for single load customers, so if I can make an extra 25 cent or more per load, (water savings) and the washer will last 3 times as long, I see the small front load as a good investment. It is not what we want, it is what the customer wants that counts. There are service, cleaning issues with other soft mount washers that the IPSO does not have, the best feature is the soap dispenser, 1 for soap, bleach, clorox, etc, one for softner. It flushes every cycle. I NEVER have to scoop soap out, or like the maytag, scoop out clorox II from the bleach compartment, something I do at least once a aweek. Then we have the suds issue.. and pricing issue. ..at 1.50 a wash, and use 17 cents water (17 gal) I can afford to spend a little extra for the washer. And with a max hot water fill on one cycle of about 4.20 gals, I save money on gas also. I think they will pay for them selves in about 2 1/2 years just in utility savings..compared to a top loader, and customers still have a cheap washer to use. They are going in my new store.

Thanks Pete. Sounds like you price them the same as tops. If so how has the migration to them from tops gone?
I was starting to wonder if anyone had them.

Any out of balance issues?

I have priced my tops at 1.75, the IPSO at 1.50 They both hold the same amount, if asked, i simply say the top costs me a quarter more to run, which is a true statement, that is why they are a quarter more. It took some time to get people used to them, for awhile I had the same price. when i upped the top price I noticed more usgae, as more people use them then even more people used them. I also took out some tops and put in Neptunes, for $2, so the choice was getting limited. I am skipping the neptune in my next store, will have 18# hard mounts for those who need them, for a bigger washer.
The IPSO can go OOB, mine are set to try and re-rigth the load 4 times, if it is still OOB it spins out slowly, and can leave clothes wet. This does not happen to often, maybe once a month, if that, between 2 stores. Beacuse it keeps trying, it spins even faster every time, so even if it does not get a full 950RPM spin, most of the time the clothes are reasonably wrung out. If somone stuffs a pillow in they get it back wet. If they call I expain the machine for pillows and heavy items is the 18# hard mount. It has not been much of an issue.
