How many years is the average life span for a co-op toploader?

I know of a fairly busy mat in Ohio with 16 Norge toploaders operating. They're all 25 to 30 years old!

not much goes with them...if you buy maytag - about 20 year.

sq - 10-15

ge/whirlpool - less - just don't belong in commercial in my opinion.

what they use in water makes up for the life span.. and initial cost

I had some SQ WA's that must have been at least 15 yrs old, I got rid of only becuase I wanted to raise the price to 1.75 and did not have the heart to do it with old washers. Now, they all looked very good, no rust, worked perfect. some I had rebuilt over time.
A top with alot of use (SQ) will need tub bearing in about 5-6 years. If kept clean, the metal can last many.many years.
The last mat I bought had yellow/ gold color Maytags.. wonder how old them things where? The timers had about 50 wires hooked to it, no plug style connector, when the timer went, so did the washer!

I would toss out any top loader that is 10-12 years old. They may still work but if you have a busy mat they will look beat up.
